This kit is comprised of the essential tools for a beginner beekeeper:

**Smoker:** This compact smoker measures 6 inches tall and features a removable grate that holds fuel while allowing optimal airflow under the coals. Its slightly smaller size makes it easy to use with one hand, yet it still holds a substantial amount of fuel to get the job done effectively.

**Smoker Fuel:** Clean, raw, short cotton fibers that are 100% pure compressed cotton produces a cool non-offensive smelling smoke. To light, drop the plug into the smoker, turn the smoker on its side, and light the top of the plug with a propane torch. Pump the bellows to get the smoker going. To extinguish, plug the smoker with a cork or wooden plug to cut off the airflow.

**J-Hook Hive Tool:** This is our most popular hive tool for good reason. It provides excellent leverage to get under frames and lift them easily, rather than prying against your hive. This makes the process easier on the beekeeper, the equipment, and the bees. It features the timeless hive tool design with a curved end and a sharpened flat end, measuring approximately 10 inches.
